Privacy notice
Version 2026-08-16. This describes exactly what happens to the information you give this site.
The short version
- You can use the calculator without giving us anything at all.
- We only store contact details if you choose to submit the optional form.
- We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or session recording.
- We never store your raw IP address.
- During this beta your details are not sent to anyone.
Using the calculator
Getting an estimate requires no name, no email, and no phone number. We record the answers you gave and the price range they produced so we can check our own pricing is sane. That record is not linked to you unless you go on to submit the contact form.
If you submit the contact form
We store:
- your first name, email address and phone number;
- your ZIP code, project type, timeline and anything you typed into the notes box;
- the estimate that was on screen when you submitted;
- a record of which agreements you ticked, and when;
- your browser's user-agent string.
What we deliberately do not store
- Your IP address. It is converted to an irreversible SHA-256 hash and only the hash is kept. It is used to rate-limit abuse. The original address is never written down.
- Your email and phone in our duplicate check. Duplicate submissions are detected using salted one-way hashes, not readable values.
- Cookies. The site sets none. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind, and no third-party analytics.
Who we share it with
Right now: nobody. This site is in a closed beta and has no installer network. Contact details submitted today are stored and go no further. No email or text message is sent to you, and no contractor receives anything.
If that changes, the purpose of the contractor contact agreement you tick on the form is to allow local installers we match you with to contact you about your project. We would only ever share the details needed to quote the job.
Third parties we do use
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides the anti-bot check on the form.
- Neon — hosts the database the above is stored in.
Both process data on our behalf as infrastructure providers. Neither is given your details for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Lead records carry a retention deadline of two years from submission. Beta records may be deleted sooner, and will be deleted on request.
Getting your data deleted
Ask, and we will delete it. This is a closed beta with a small number of invited testers, so the fastest route is to reply directly to whoever invited you to test the site, quoting the email address you used. We will confirm once it is gone.
